1st Army Tank Brigade
1st Army Tank Brigade went to France with the British Expeditionary Force and saw action during the Battle of France. After a period of reorganisation, they served in North Africa and North Western Europe.
- 4th Royal Tank Regiment, until December 1940
- 7th Royal Tank Regiment, until December 1940
- 8th Royal Tank Regiment, until September 1942 (did not serve in France)
- 44th Royal Tank Regiment, December 1940 to May 1943
- 49th Royal Tank Regiment, December 1940 to October 1944
- 42nd Royal Tank Regiment, April 1941 to November 1944
- 11th Royal Tank Regiment, October 1942 to October 1944

We would like to obtain digital copies of any documents or photographs relating to WW2 you may have at home.If you have any unwanted photographs, documents or items from the First or Second World War, please do not destroy them. The Wartime Memories Project will give them a good home and ensure that they are used for educational purposes.
