231st Brigade
231st Brigade was formed on 1st of April 1943 by the redesignation of the 1st (Malta) Infantry Brigade. They served with 50th Division and as an Independent Brigade and saw action in Sicily, Italy and North Western Europe.It was made up of
- 2nd Battalion, Devonshire Regiment (until 30th November 1944)
- 1st Battalion, Hampshire Regiment
- 1st Battalion, Dorsetshire Regiment
- 1/6th Battalion, Queen's Royal (West Surrey) Regiment (from 4th December 1944)
