147th Infantry Brigade
147th Brigade served with 49th Division during the Second World War. It consisted of 1/5th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment, 1/6th Battalion, Duke of Wellington's Regiment and 1/7th Battalion, Duke of Wellington's Regiment, from 20th March 1940 to 1st of August 1940 147th Infantry Brigade Anti-Tank Company supported the infantry In September 1942 5th West Yorkshires were replaced by 11th Battalion Royal Scots Fusiliers and in July 1944 1st Battalion Leicestershire Regiment replaced 6th Duke of Wellingtons Regiment. They served in Iceland and North Western Europe.
