153rd Infantry Brigade
153rd Brigade served with 51st (Highland) Division and proceeded to France with the BEF in 1939. They were captured at St Valery in June 1940 and was reformed in August by the redesignation of 27th Brigade, 9th (Highland) Division and went on to see action in North Africa, Sicily and North Western Europe.It was made up of:
- 4th Battalion, Black Watch (to 12th June 1940)
- 5th Battalion, Gordon Highlanders (to 12th June 1940)
- 6th Battalion, Gordon Highlanders (to 12th June 1940)
- 5th Battalion, Black Watch (from Aug 1940)
- 1st Battalion, Gordon Highlanders (from Aug 1940)
- 5/7th Battalion, Gordon Highlanders (from Aug 1940)
