44th (Home Counties) Division
44th (Home Counties) Division was part of the Territorial Army and proceeded to France with the British Expeditionary Force on the 1st of April 1940 where it saw action in the Battle of France and was evacuated via Dunkirk. After a period on Home Defence they were sent to North Africa where they were engaged in hard fighting. The formation was disbanded on 31st January 1943 with units transferring to other Divisions.During the Second World War 44th Division was made up of:
