Wanted: Digital copies of Group photographs, Scrapbooks, Autograph books, photo albums, newspaper clippings, letters, postcards and ephemera relating to WW2. We would like to obtain digital copies of any documents or photographs relating to WW2 you may have at home.If you have any unwanted photographs, documents or items from the First or Second World War, please do not destroy them. The Wartime Memories Project will give them a good home and ensure that they are used for educational purposes.

B. McIvor 9th Btn. Cameronians (d.8th Feb 1945)
Near Nijmegen was a temporary Cemetery originally made by the Grenadier Guards in September 1944 during the operation Market Garden. At the start of the Operation Veritable in Feb 1945 in this cemetery also a few members of the 9th Battalion Cameronians were buried. We noticed the following names: B. McIvor killed 8 feb ( 14748601) B. Evenden killed 9th fe.(14730325) W.R. Ramsay killed 9th feb (14404830) We are writing an article on this cemetery and would be pleased to get more information on the fallen people.Frans Geertsen
Pte. James Albert Clifford D Coy., 1st Btn. Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry
My Dad, James Clifford was conscripted into the Army at 18 years of age in June 1944. He completed training and joined his unit in October 1944. Fought in France, Belgium and Holland. He fought in the Battle for Roermond and took part in Operation Veritable in the Reichswald Forest. He was injured in late February 1945 during a mortar attack. He returned to the UK and did not leave hospital until October 1947. He was discharged from the Army in November 1947.Annmarie Jones
Tpr. Kenneth Samuel Charles Hooper 6 Troop 43rd Reconnaissance Regiment
Kenneth Hooper served with 6 Troop, 43rd Reconnaissance Regiment in WW2. He was part of Operation Veritable. He was captured on 12th of February 1945 near Cleve on the Siegfried Line. Transferred to Stalag XIB, he spent 6 weeks in hospital suffering from a wound in head. Kenneth was liberated on 16th April.Robin Hooper
