Our Library contains an ever growing number diary entries, personal letters and other documents, most transcribed into plain text. Wanted: Digital copies of Group photographs, Scrapbooks, Autograph books, photo albums, newspaper clippings, letters, postcards and ephemera relating to WW2. We would like to obtain digital copies of any documents or photographs relating to WW2 you may have at home. If you have any unwanted photographs, documents or items from the First or Second World War, please do not destroy them. The Wartime Memories Project will give them a good home and ensure that they are used for educational purposes. Stories from 15th March 1941 Fireman. Joseph McLindon. Merchant Navy, HMS Comorin. (d.15th Mar 1941) Joseph McLindon Died Age 47 whilst serving on HMS Comorin with the Naval Auxiliary Personnel. He was born in Jarrow in 1893 and is buried in Jarrow Cemetery. He is commemorated on the WW2 Roll of Honour Plaque in the entrance of Jarrow Town Hall. Vin Mullen Add to this record. Pte. C. S. Erasmus. South African Forces, Essential Services Protection Corps. (d.15th March 1941) Private Erasmus was the Husband of J. A. Erasmus, of Paarl, Cape Province. He was 45 and is buried in the Alicedale Cametery, Eastern Cape, South Africa S flynn Add to this record. Lt. Peter Scales Turner. British Army, 1st Field Regiment, 11th Bty. Royal Artillery. (d.15th March 1941) I know very little about my uncle, Peter Turner. He was in the 11th Bty., 1st Field Regiment, Royal Artillery and he was the son of Brigadier William Arthur Scales Turner, M.C., and Elsie Alice Turner (nee Margetson), of Westminster, London. He is buried at Keren War Cemetery, Eritrea. He was 21 and I would do anything to find a picture of him Graham Margetson Add to this record. Pte Albert Henry Marshall. British Army, 2nd Btn. Cameron Highlanders. (d.15th Mar 1941) Albert Marshall was a piper with the 2nd Cameron Highlanders. Add to this record.
