L/Cpl. Thomas Waugh " " Heslop
236 Bridge Coy
from: High Usworth Co.Durham
(d. 28/3/1944)
Thomas W Heslop was my mother's eldest brother. All that I know about him was that he served with 236 Bridge Coy RASC and was killed in Italy on 28/3/44 and is buried in Minturno War Cemetry about 78 km north Of Naples.
I have a recollection of being told many years ago that the truck he was driving hit a mine, but I have no way of knowing if this is correct.
I would be interested to hear from anyone who may remember him,or indeed from anyone who can give me more information about 236 Bridge Coy,where they were and what action they were involved with at the time.
