204954 Michael Joseph Stroker Royal Air Force from:Roscommon, Ireland Joe as he was known by his family or Michael as he was called in England came from Roscommon Ireland and joined the RAF in 1939 at 18 years old. Prior to going abroad his met his wife to be Winnie in a Post Office in Warrington, where she worked. He asked her to write to him. Which she did for the next six years. He served in Burma and prior to the end of the war she did not hear from him for a few months and she believed he had not survived until he turned up at the post office! They married soon after and lived happily ever after until they both died within a year of each other in the 1990's in a Warrington nursing home, they had no children. Joe was my uncle and I only managed to make contact with him a year before he died. He was a beautiful man. I wish I had tracked him down sooner. Does anyone know anything about him?
