Chris Le Roux was CO of 111 Squadron in North Africa in early 1943. He had flown in the Battle of France in May 1940, was wounded and resumed operations in December 1940 so he missed the Battle of Britain. He was killed in a flying accident as CO of 602 squadron in 1944.
