William Alfred Wells
British Army
My late Father, William Alfred Wells, was a POW in Stalag VIIIB E3 Blechammer.
Captured at Dunkirk, he spent the rest of the war in Stalag VIIIB before making the forced death march of 13 weeks at the end of the war. Marching all the way to Moosburg in Austria, they were liberated by the American Army and he returned home in May 1945.
I have photos of him in the camp, and also a report he gave to our local paper some years afterwards when interviewed as a member of the Dunkirk Veterans Association. Could any one be able to fill in some gaps in his time there for me.
