I am the grandson of George W Timcke. I am trying to find out more details regarding his wartime experiences for my father. As far as we know, he started in the Essex Regiment before transferring to the Royal West Kent Regiment.
During this time he was shot and injured somewhere in North Africa, and captured by the Italians. He eventually interned into Stalag 18A in Wolfsberg. This is all the information we have for him.
If anyone could help us to find out more information regarding his experiences we would be very grateful.
Many thanks.
