RSM. Edwin Sturt

British Army

from:Edmonton, London

I am looking for some details of my Dad's life in the Army as Mum never spoke about his military life to me, his names was Edward Sturt. I know he was stationed in Malta for some of the time and he liked photography as I have found several photos of Malta but no info on any of them. There is also photographic and developing equipment in his Army trunk. He also had a German Shepherd dog while in the army but not sure where he was stationed at that time. He had signed up for a lot of years but due to my Mum's illness he had to quit the Army much to his disappointment. He was a trained carpenter/joiner but not sure if he gained those skills prior to joing up. I also know that he used to do what he called 'square bashing' and had a sargeant major's moustache. I hope someone might know of him although he was born in 1913, so a bit of a long shot.
