212666 Brig. Malcolm David Erskine MID DSO. British Army Scots Guards Malcolm Erskine gained the rank of Brigadier in the service of the Scots Guards. He was was mentioned in dispatches, decorated with the award of the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1943. He was invested as a Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1949 posthumously. He died on 27 October 1949 at age 46, disappeared while on a flight over the Malayan jungle.
