James McFarlane Barrow died aged 31 whilst serving with the Royal Engineers. He was the son of Joseph Barrow and of Annie Barrow (nee McFarlane) of Monkton Jarrow
James is buried in Sfax War Cemetery and has a private memorial in Jarrow Cemetery.
His name was missing off the old plaque in the Town Hall, Jarrow and is still missing off the new plaque.
