Thomas Flanagan who died aged 30 was born in 1912 in Jarrow. He was the son of Thomas and Sarah Flanagan (nee O'Brien) of Jarrow.
His younger brother Joseph was also one of the fallen.
Thomas is buried in Leopoldsburg War Cemetery and is commemorated on the WW2 Roll of Honour Plaque in the entrance of Jarrow Town Hall.
