John Brown Flowdy who died aged 17 was born in Jarrow in 1924, the son of Robert Miller M. and Jane Flowdy (nee Rutherford) of Jarrow.
John is remembered on the Tower Hill Memorial and is commemorated on the WW2 Roll of Honour Plaque in the entrance of Jarrow Town Hall.
