John Gray who died aged 36 when his ship was sunk, was born in South Shields in 1905 the son of James Robert and Mabel Telford Gray. He was the husband of Norah Gray of South Shields.
John is remembered on the Tower Hill Memorial and is commemorated on the WW2 Roll of Honour Plaque in the entrance of Jarrow Town Hall.
