Sub.Lt(A) Patrick "Rick" Warren
Fleet Air Arm 827th Squadron
from:Sealand Rd, Chester, Cheshire
(d.16th May 1945 )
My uncle Rick Warren entered the Fleet Air Arm on the 30th of September 1942 and served until his death in a plane crash involving another squadron plane on the 16th of May 1945. Photos my mother has of him show him to be a cheery and enthusiastic fellow. He is remembered at the FAA Memorial at Lee-on-the-Solent, Hampshire.
May God bless him and all who served.
Editor's note: Patrick Warren was born in Dublin in 1925 the son of Patrick J Warren and Mae Irene Lewis. He flew a Fairery Barracuda and was aboard the HMS Colossus (dep Glasgow Jan 1945). He died in a mid-air collision in Dekheila, Alexandria, Egypt (May 1945, age 19) along with 5 others of the 827th.
