Lancelot James died aged 27 whilst serving with the Merchant Navy. Born in Hartlepool in 1913, he was the son of Thomas Ernest V. and Frances Mary James (nee Tate) of Jarrow
Lancelot is remembered on the Tower Hill Memorial and is commemorated on the WW2 Roll of Honour Plaque in the entrance of Jarrow Town Hall.
