215556 Pte. John Joseph Lindsay British Army 2nd Battalion Essex Regiment (d.18th May 1940) John Lindsay died aged 35, whilst serving with the Essex Regiment. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Lindsay of Jarrow and husband of C. M. Lindsay of Whitton, Middlesex John is remembered on the Dunkirk Memorial and is commemorated on the WW2 Roll of Honour Plaque in the entrance of Jarrow Town Hall.
