Born in Jarrow in 1912 Albert George Royal was 22 when he died. He was the son of Albert George and Catherine Ann Royal (nee Bowman) and husband of Elsie Kirkup Royal (nee Dalton) of South Shields.
Albert is remembered on the Singapore Memorial and is commemorated on the WW2 Roll of Honour Plaque in the entrance of Jarrow Town Hall.
