Archie Henderson Scott, son of James and Nellie M. Scott (nee Tuff), was born in 1920 in Willington Quay, North Tyneside. He died aged 20 on 10th January 1941, when the Gallant struck a mine close to the Italian island of Pantellaria. He is commemorated at Portsmouth Naval Memorial and on the WW2 Roll of Honour Plaque in the entrance to Jarrow Town Hall.
