James Smith died age 38, he was the son of James and Marklyn Smith of Jarrow and husband of Catherine Smith (nee Walker) of Primrose Jarrow.
He is buried in Jarrow Cemetery and is commemorated on the WW2 Roll of Honour Plaque in the entrance of Jarrow Town Hall.
