William Steadman was born in Gateshead in 1913, he was the son of William and Margaret Steedman (nee Nichol) and the husband of Majorie Steedman (nee Hibbert) of Jarrow.
He died aged 30 and is remembered on the Runnymede Memorial and is commemorated on the WW2 Roll of Honour Plaque in the entrance of Jarrow Town Hall.
