Flight Sergeant Josseph Welsh was an Air Gunner serving with 626 Squadron, Royal Air Force during WW2. He died age 22 on the 27th November 1943 and He is commemorated on the WW2 Roll of Honour Plaque in the entrance of Jarrow Town Hall and is buried in Jarrow Cemetery. Joseph was the son of William and Elizabeth Welsh of Jarrow.
