217209 Alfred John Stevenson British Army Royal East Kent Regiment from:London I never got the chance to meet my grandfather as he had passed away before I was born, but I was always told about him being captured as they headed to Dunkirk and then being marched to Poland, he lost several toes due to frostbite. While researching my family tree I discovered that he was a POW at Stalag 20b in Malbork, Poland. His name was Alfred John Stevenson of the Royal East Kent Regiment (the Buffs). He was in his late 30s when he was captured.
