Flt.Sgt. Edward John Neale
Royal Air Force 514 Squadron
from:London
My uncle Ted Neale joined 514 squadron on October 29th 1943 and then moved to Bottisford in March 1945, finishing at Swinderby in August 1945. He survived the war as a rear gunner in a Lancaster. He was a Flight Sergeant and his widow tells me that his pilot was Percy (she thinks) Carter.
She recently received his Posthumous medal ribbon as he was part of Bomber Command. Shamefully they were never recognised until long after his death in 1999.
I know about that much, he never really spoke about it. His widow has his log book and I plan to visit her to see if I can find out any more about his service and colleagues
