Frank Leslie Relf
British Army Royal Fusiliers
My father Frank Relf served with the Royal Field Artillery in France and Salonica during WW1.
He signed on for WW2 at Mitcham Road Barracks, Croydon on 7th December 1939 and was drafted to Royal Fusiliers. He was captured at the defence of Calais in May 1940. He was interred at 1157 Stalag XX1B 7284 Stalag XX1A XX1D Stalag XX1C/H. His last camp was V111B before repatriation from Goteborg
on the 16 October 1943. On arrival in the UK he was admitted to the
Queen Alexander Hospital at Cosham Hampshire as a Tommy Blue for medical services. He died in 1971 aged 79.
