My uncle Les Cowley served in North Africa in WW2. He was born 1908 in Everton, Liverpool. My mother told me on his way home from N.Africa on board a vessel, he saved some of the men who had jumped overboard, by diving in himself and saving them. Sadly that is all I know about him. If anyone can help I would be pleased.
