Capt. Eric William Langston Keymer MC.
British Army 75th Med Regt (Shropshire Yeomanry) Royal Artillery
from:Alderley Edge
My father Eric Keymer served with the Shropshire Yeomanry in the Second World War, Royal Regiment of Artillery, 75th Shropshire Yeomanry Med Regt, fighting in Italy, where he was awarded a Military Cross for his actions on 30th December 1944, at which point he was acting as GPO to D Troop 102 Battery just south of Fontanelice.
In 2009 he wrote up his Recollections of the War in a booklet which we published. It gives a full and personal account of his experiences from 3rd September 1939 when the news came that we were at war with Germany, through to 1946 when the Regiment was put into suspended animation; he finally returned home in July 1946.
