Alfred Rostron was a pilot in 10 Sqdn. (4 Group) flying Halifax Bomber JD272 ZA-F on the night of 27th September 1943 on a bombing raid to Hannover. The aircraft was shot down over Wippingen, Germany by August Geiger. All seven crew members, sadly, lost their lives. Initially they were buried in Wippingen then re-interred in Reichswald Cemetery.
