2nd Lt. Henry Harkema
US Army 612th Tank Destroyer Btn.
My father-in-law, Henry Harkema, was a 2nd Lt. in the 612th Tank Destroyer Btn. His battalion went ashore on D-Day+3 and fought from there through Brest, Northern France, Huertgen Forest, the Ardennes and finally the Rhineland. He wound up in military government at Pilsen, Czechoslovakia.
