My dad, Hector William Clifford, was a navigator on Lancasters based at Little Staughton. We have a photo of 582 Squadron and dad is on it. His brothers and sister said that when he returned to New Zealand after the war, he was a very different young man to the one who had left. He died in 1999, never having spoken of his war experiences.
