F/Sgt Frederick Pearson was killed in August 1944 flying a special operation out of Tarrant Rushton. His Halifax V bomber LL343 T-L left Tarrant Rushton at 23.59 hours heading for Belgium on SOE mission "Osric". It is believed that the aircraft was shot down over the English Channel. All the crew were killed and are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial. The full crew were:
