Kenneth T. Smith
Royal Air Force No.3 Initial Training Wing
My grandfather Kenneth T. Smith was an instructor at No.3 Initial Training Wing Torquay based at the Regina Hotel.
He used to fetch new recruits on a coach from Lords Cricket ground and he particularly remembers one group of lads all 6 feet plus tall. It turned out that they were all in the police force and the only way out was to join up.
(The reason he remembers them is he is only around 5 feet 4" himself and he was surrounded by giants poor soul.)
He was a tough cookie and gave them all a hard time, but would dearly love to hear from anyone who may remember him.
