On 13th September a memorial was unveiled to two airmen, Sqn Ldr RS Woodward DFC and W/O DB McPhail RCAF at Noirmont Point Jersey. This point overlooks the place where both men were lost on 7th December 1942, during a Whirlwind attack on a German Convoy sailing between Jersey and Guernsey.
Both men are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.
