230325 Joseph Claridge Merchant Navy MS Rangitane My grandfather, Joseph Claridge, was on the Rangitane, a ship which was sunk by the Japanese. They were captured by the Japanese but, because there were too many of them, they were dumped on a deserted island and lived off the wild boar and fruit. There were apparently 200 or more men abandoned, but they have not been classed as POW because they were dumped on this island. When my grandfather was eventually picked up he weighed only five and a half stone. I would like to know if there is anyone out there with information
