Royal Air Force 196 Sqdn.

My father-in-law, Edward Lawton, was a member of the crew of a Stirling (EH 952) of 196 Squadron which got into difficulties on 24th August 1943 over the North Sea. The full crew were:

  • E. Lawton (sent to Stalag Luft 3)

  • R.A. Teadwell
  • E.W.J.Kerr
  • D.H. Canning
  • L.H. Huggins
  • D.F. Moore
