June 21, 1944, from East Kirkby on the Wesseling Oil Refinery raid. This plane was attacked and shot down by a German JU-88 Night Fighter flown by Uffz. Johann Werthner of 7./NJ2, crashing west of Geilenkirchen with the loss of all 7 crew members. P/O McCrudden was the "old man" of the crew, being 34 years of age at his death.
