John Joseph Macken British Army 7th Armoured Brigade Royal Armoured Corps from:Norwich (d.22nd February 1942) John Macken died in Burma aged 23, his brother Thomas was in the Royal Navy and died one year later (also aged 23), when his submarine was sunk. Neither man has a grave, John is remembered on the Rangoon Memorial, and Thomas on the Chatham Naval Memorial. They were the only two children of John Macken, who lost a leg in Flanders in WW1.
