231385 L/Cpl. Herbert Holzer British Army Palestine Pioneer Corp from:Jerusalem My grandfather, Herbert Holzer was born in February 1918 in Vienna, Austria. My grandfather was Herbert Holzer born Feb. 19. 1918 in Vienna. Between 1938-1940 he made his way to Palestine where he enlisted in the British Army at Sarafand. He served with the Palestinian Pioneer Corp and was captured. he was held as POW # 6737 in Stalag 344 Lamsdorf, Poland from 1941-1945. At this point I do not know too much of his story but I know he worked in the coal mines. He later moved to New York. If there are any suggestions to find information I would appreciate it.
