Nigel Havelock-Sutton was born on 6th of January 1921, the son of Captain George Havelock-Sutton MC and Ethel Havelock Sutton. He attended Connaught House Preparatory School in Weymouth, Dorset. From January to December 1933 he attended Sherborne School, Dorset, and then Bruton School, Somerset.
During WW2 he served as a Flight-Sergeant, Royal Air Force (Volunteer Reserve) in 547 Squadron. His service number was 1267276. He was killed in action over the Bay of Biscay on 12th of April 1944. He is commemorated on the Runnymead Memorial, at Sherborne School on the War Memorial Staircase and in the Book of Remembrance and at Castleton Church Burial Ground in Sherborne, Dorset.
