Donald Norton, my grandad, was a miner after the war and became foreman of props at Walkden Yard. I was going through his paperwork when I found his discharge papers. HMS Collingwood was his first ship. I believe he was a signalman and was also stationed at HMS Mercury and HMS Scotia, plus three more, but I am unable to read the names of these.
