All I know for sure is that William Gordon was in North Africa in 1942. I believe he was with the BEF at Dunkirk. He married at St Johns's Church, Stamford, Lincs on Christmas Day 1940 - I assume that was a special dispensation for military personnel due to ship out somewhere soon.
