Ernest Petrie
from:Treorchy, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Wales
The family knew Ernest Petrie was in a Japanese POW Camp. He came home from Burma via Australia around 1946 and was officially given £1 to spend for the whole journey. He was more than likely in a Welsh Regiment, as he was from Treorchy, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Wales. It was said he weighed around 5 stone when he returned.
