British Army 9th Battalion Gordon Highlanders
Jack Hull joined the 9th Gordon Highlanders and went to India in June 1942. Upon arrival, they became the 116th Regiment, Royal Armoured Corps, part of 267th Indian Armoured Brigade. In October 1942, the 116th Regiment transferred to 255th Indian Tank Brigade. In 1944, the 255th came under the command of IV Corps and were involved in the Battle of Meiktila, Battle of Pokoku, Irrawaddy River operations and the Dash for Rangoon.
