Glyn Thomas was born to David and Charlotte Thomas, who lived in River Street, Ystrad, Rhondda, Glam. He served in the British Army in the 8th Battalion, Durham Light Infantry. He was in the Expeditionary Force and was firstly reported as Missing, and then afterwards reported as Killed in Action on 13th of July 1944 aged 25 years.
He is buried in Hottot-les-Bagues War Cemetery, Calvados, France. The historical information states that there was much heavy fighting throughout June and July 1944 as they were moving to the south of Caen.
