Douglas Bowler was killed in Italy in September 1944 whilst serving with the 58th Anti-Tank Regiment, Royal Artillery. He was born in Kingston, Surrey in1919 to Henry John and Mary Anne Bowler. He Beatrice Joyce Fry married at Emmington, near Thame in 1940 and they had a daughter the following year.
