Gnr. William Tye
Royal Navy HMS Glendower
from:Lincoln, England
My father William Tye was a gunner for the Royal Navy. He enlisted in 1943 at the age of 18. I have his papers, but they are a little hard to understand. The ships listed were Glendower, President III, Pembroke and the last one is the Tulmar. He was injured and given an honourable discharge. The sad part is that my father would never discuss the war with me, as I was a girl. I feel very sad about it now. I am the President of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 43, and I am involved with the Vets, past and present. I would like very much to find out more if I could. Any photos or stories.
